Harjit dhanda, registered physiotherapist

Harjit has been involved in fitness and sports from an early age, specifically basketball. This passion led to a desire to continue learning about the human body, leading to a Kinesiology degree from UBC. Adding to this, he also worked as a personal trainer at both the YMCA and Sunset Community Centre for several years doing one-on-one sessions, fitness orientations, and group classes.

Sports have been a passion from an early age. However, being consistently involved in sports/weight training led to some unfortunate injuries, which grew a newfound interest in rehabilitation. Going through inadequate rehab himself, he wanted to ensure others didn’t undergo the same insufficient treatment, leading to his strong interest in helping others. With this in mind, he has a greater understanding of nagging injuries that can hinder regular activities of daily living.

In regards to treatment style, he believes in prioritizing the client’s goals. Whether this involves recovering from an injury, sport-specific or fitness goals, he ensures clients are provided with the knowledge to continue improving independently by working on efficient movement patterns to build a strong foundation.

During his time off, he enjoys weight training, playing/watching sports and spending time with friends and family. Binging Netflix while snacking on any kind of chocolate is also a common occurrence that happens one too many times.
