Virtual Kinesiology at PRE Therapy
At PRE therapy, we now offer Telehealth, a Virtual Online Appointment with your therapist. The online sessions will consist of a virtual assessment, movement exercises and assigned home-care to optimize your body. Our Kinesiologists use a 3-phase approach to your recovery: Pain Management, Restoration, Evolution. This approach helps us identify what pain or instability needs to be worked on right now, while providing you with a long-term solution for staying healthy and active.
Kinesiologists can help you recover from an overuse or acute injury through mobility exercises and active rehabilitation. They also help you manage, rehabilitate, and prevent mobility issues that impede how your body moves and functions after injuries and car accidents.
When You Should Start Active Rehab
In most cases, after a car accident or injury, the earlier you introduce active rehab the better. Your kinesiologist will work with you to design a treatment plan based on your current pain level or range of motion and progress things in a safe manner. Your kinesiologist will also be working with PRE Therapy massage therapists (RMTs) as a team to provide a complementary treatment plan that gives you multiple professional perspectives.

FAQs
+ How does a Virtual Appointment work?
For all virtual appointments, you and your therapist will discuss how you are feeling, and go over details of your case history. This is an opportunity for you to also discuss what your goals are, which will help the therapist create a personalized treatment plan. After a case history is taken, your therapist may ask you to perform certain movements to assess you. During the session, expect to do a series of exercises to further strengthen and create stability to progress you out of pain.
+ I have an ICBC claim. How do I get started?
If your accident date just occurred, you will have pre-approved sessions for RMT and Kin for 12 weeks from that date (once a week).
If your accident date occured a while back, we will need a doctor's note (written referral for RMT and/or KIn) as well as written approval from your adjuster for the sessions.
+ When will I be ready for Active Rehab?
A great time to start incorporate Active Rehab would be when your pain has subsided to a comfortable level. This will allow the body to create more stabilty in the affected areas so you are more resilient.
+ How quickly will I progress with Active Rehab?
The progress will vary depending on each individual case. In our experience, when massage therapy is paired with Active Rehab, it allows for our patients to experience a faster progression in becoming pain-free.
+ What issues can a Kinesiologist help me with?
A Kinesiologist can help with anything from biomechanics, mobility, stability, strengthening, and postural cueing and correction.
+ What should I wear to my appointment?
Expect to wear active wear (sports-bra, t-shirt and shorts)
+ Do you offer direct billing?
Yes we offer direct billing to ICBC, and our Active Rehab sessions are a $0 user fee as well!
